ECCO - East Cooper Community Outreach

Volunteer shifts are Monday through Friday at 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm with no restrictions as to the number of days or shifts a volunteer can serve. There are various opportunities to serve at ECCO. Training is provided. All are important to advancing the mission of our organization, including the following:

-Client Interviews & Front Office

-Wellness Pantry

-Clothing Closet


CCPRL - Charleston County Parks & Recreation

Volunteers are the heart of most everything we do and we are always recruiting for upcoming programs and events and for our Adopt-A-Landing program. Come join us to:

  • Meet new people.

  • Experience your county parks and programs for free.

  • Get involved with your community.

  • Attend volunteer appreciation socials and events.

  • Get a volunteer reciprocal pass for participating area attractions if you serve more than 35 hours a year.

Delivering with Meals on Wheels is one of the most rewarding experiences a person could have. Just ask one of our outstanding volunteers. They will tell you that when you help with Meals on Wheels, you’re helping delivery more than just a meal — you’re bringing hope to someone who needs it.

Through the opportunities listed below, you can join the thousands of volunteers each year who give their time and energy to help fight hunger in our community. Individuals, families, and groups of all sizes can make an impact!

Regular opportunities to help with sorting and packing food take place at the Charleston location:

  • Monday-Friday: 9am-12pm and 1-3pm

  • Tuesdays: 4:30-6:30pm

  • 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month: 9am-12pm

  • Lowcountry Orphan Relief:

The main way to volunteer is at our Distribution Center. This is where we sort, store, pack and distribute all donations for the children we are serving. We provide each child a Care Kit filled with clothing, shoes, and toiletries as well as school supplies, stuffed animals, and books.
When: Monday-Friday between 9am-3pm. We like to schedule volunteers/groups in 2-hour time slots.
Where: 1850 Truxtun Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405 (located on the old navy yard)

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older and if between the ages of 12-15 must be accompanied by a guardian/chaperone
